Holy Smokes! How is it the end of June already? Every year it seems the summer flies by faster and faster. This is the very reason I put into action a bucket list plan at the beginning of the summer.
You may remember that our summer bucket list looked like this at the beginning of June
and here's what our bucket list looks like with one month down and one and a half to go:
Berry Picking
You can read all about our berry picking adventures HERE. It's become one of our favorite activities! Jacob loves to have free rein out in the fields to run around, explore, and pick some sweet fruit to snack on!
Fireworks
Little man liked the sparklers but watched exactly 3 big, overhead fireworks before deciding he'd had enough. He fell asleep on a willing lap as soon as we went inside. (Jury is still out on whether he didn't like the fireworks or staying up SO late past his bedtime)
Concert
We went to the Friday night concert in the park where Jacob had a great time dancing, singing, and bouncing around in his chair.
Petting Farm
Grandma's work picnic was at Domino Farms where we saw pigs, goats, sheep, horses, chickens, and his favorite "llama llamas."
Movie
I took Jacob to his first movie during the children's dollar shows to see Horton Hears a Who. I knew going into it that he might not make it very long. Thankfully it was only a dollar because he made it half an hour before he was done sitting still and being quiet. Coincidentally this is the same amount of time it took him to eat his popcorn, gummy snacks, and chocolate milk.
Ducks
Jacob wasn't too sure what to think about feeding the ducks. He liked throwing the bread, but quickly retreated when the ducks swam over to eat it. He really liked watching them from a distance though.
Fair
We hit up the fair with Jacob's Tati shortly after arriving in Michigan. He tried to ride the children's train all by himself, and while he was initially excited, he became very upset when the train started moving and I wasn't on it with him. He REALLY liked the rides he went on with me and he LOVED his elephant ear that Tati got.
Splash Pad
We've made several trips to the splash pad now, and anticipate making many more. Jacob likes the little fountains but steers clear of the big ones. He is VERY timid around bigger kids and will leave the pad if he thinks there are too many around him.
Playground
We've made countless playground trips to explore, slide, and swing. Jacob never tires of running around at the park. He'll swing until the cows come home if you let him.
We've also been having lots of fun living life unscheduled. Going for runs in the morning, swimming, baking, playing in the yard, meeting up with friends on a whim, stopping to watch construction crews because we don't have anywhere else to be, and just spending lots of time together. I miss this time during the year when I'm working.
How fun! I need to do this next summer!
