Summer Bucket List: July Update

July 31, 2016

Holy Smokes! How is it the end of July already? Every year it seems the summer flies by faster and faster. This is the very reason I put into action a bucket list plan at the beginning of the summer.

Here's how our bucket list is looking with two months of Summer behind us:

Jacob's Jersey Layover

Jersey was the final stop in our grand summer tour, which you can read more about HERE. It was a quick trip, but we were able to see quite a bit of family and squeeze in some fun too!

6 Tips for Packing a Teacher Approved Lunch Box

July 25, 2016
How to get an A+ in lunch box packing

July is rapidly coming to a close which means as much as I hate to admit it, school is right around the corner. You'll soon be starting to get your little ones ready to head off to school and with that comes a new challenge: the lunch box.

Over the ten years I've taught as a kindergarten teacher I have seen it all. From a lunch box that contained nothing but cookies and chips, to one that contained a completely frozen lean cuisine. Lunch time is SO important for re-fueling and filling your little one with the nutrients they need to focus for an afternoon of learning. Here are my top tips for packing a teacher-approved lunch box!

Oh sweet, sweet, summertime. The days are longer, our schedules are simpler, and there's no better time to take our dining outside. In fact, June was Get Outdoors Month! As a Florida family, we eat outside quite a bit, and I know it's not without it's challenges. I'm partnering with Back to Nature Mac & Cheese today to share some tips to make your Al Fresco dining experiences a little less stressful for you and a little more fun for your kids!

Our little family is on the move again. Our summer travels are taking us to Atlantic City today, which means we are leaving behind Michigan and our family there. It's always hard to say goodbye, but thankfully we have so many wonderful memories from our weeks here.

Stars & Stripes & Sleepless Nights

July 5, 2016

I was wished a happy long weekend no less than 5 times this past weekend and I had to laugh every time. If you don't know, I'm a teacher. The entire summer is one giant, long weekend. And it's glorious.

Especially when I get to celebrate my favorite holiday. I just LOVE the 4th of July. Maybe it's all the red, white, and blue. Maybe it's the WW2 veterans in the local parade. Whatever it is, I look forward to it every year and this year with a wild toddler was no exception.
