Jacob is 7 weeks old and he is still growing, growing, growing. That means lots of eating, eating, eating and NOT a lot of sleeping. His favorite place to sleep is still in the arms of anyone who will hold him.
His sleep patterns are actually very inconsistent. Our best night this week we got to sleep from 10:30 - 1:30 (3 hours), 2:00-6:00 (4 hours), and 8:00-10:00 (2 hours) for a grand total of 9 hours! Another night he only slept from 4:00am - 7:00 am, a total of 3 hours. There were some cranky parents the following morning! We made ourselves breakfast while Jacob did tummy time and watched the Today show and then we all got in a good nap!!
Later in the week, he only slept from 3:30-4:00 am. Half an hour!! He was just as tired as we were the next morning.
He likes to eat very frequently (every hour to two hours) during the day and we try to keep him up for lots of playtime after he eats. Of course he eventually gets cranky and needs naps.
Given his talents for binge drinking and staying up all night I think it's safe to say our son is going to rock at College.
Jacob still loves hanging out in his bouncer (if we are bouncing it!) and under his play gym.
Jacob's been working so hard at focusing his eyes on the hanging toys that I decided it was time to get out his stroller toy Sir. Prance-a-lot. As I suspected, he loved staring at it.
He continues to rock tummy time, and doesn't hate it like some babies do.
He is still practicing rolling from front to back, but once he gets on his back he can't figure out how to get back to his front. Sometimes he's ok hanging out on his back, and sometimes it makes him mad.
Jacob went to his first Jewelry party this week. He was wide awake and happy the whole time. He liked looking at the reflection of the fan and light in the window. He picked out a necklace for mommy with his initial on it.
Everyone loved holding Jacob :)
We went out for cheesesteak this week too. Jacob was more interested in the fan than the cheesesteak.
And he peed all over daddy and himself. We quick rushed him to the sink and discovered he's too big for the sink now! This was his last sink bath :(
We had a big storm this week, but Layla made sure to comfort her baby and keep him safe.
7 weeks of cuteness ;)
